Brunello Di Montalcino
100% sangiovese grosso sourced from Montalcino in Tuscany
001 Fanti Riserva 2010 (IT) (1 LEFT)
Ridiculous Deal! Fanti's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a standout expression and a profoundly beautiful creation. The bouquet peels off one delicate layer after the next and it grows in intensity along the way. This is the best wine I have yet tasted from Fanti's Filippo Baldassarre. The mouthfeel is moderate in weight and long in persistence. It glows with balsamic aromas of rosemary and ginger that are backed by ripe aromas of cherry and blackberry. Spice, leather and cola round off the finish.
$195

This is pure class, offering medium to full-bodied richness, a focused, elegant texture, polished tannins, and a great finish. This classic, balanced beauty will evolve for 15-20 years. Drink 2020-2040.”

Fresh acidity keeps the richness in check.
